The annual CEEC conferences are held to assess and discuss topical issues in energy policy and energy security in Central Europe within the context of EU energy policy. The ambitions of the CEEC conference are twofold: first, to bring together leading stakeholders from the energy sector in Central Europe, and second, to contribute to finding better energy policy solutions for the EU and for the countries of Central Europe.
The aim of the 13th CEEC conference is to assess energy security under Slovakia’s 2019 OSCE Chairmanship, the achievements of the Energy Union five years after its launch, the consequences of global energy trends for the energy security and economic competitiveness of the EU as a whole and Central Europe specifically. The conference will pay special attention to the new dynamics in natural gas consumption and supply in Europe; the capacities of the V4 countries to meet the 2020 targets, focusing on the share of renewables in energy consumption; the EU’s Clean Planet vision; and development trends in energy markets, cleaner mobility, new technologies and smart energy. The thematic evening sessions of the conference will additionally cover other topics central to present developments in the energy sector of the EU and Central Europe.
